The Skye Book Festival is run by a community charity called Cleas.

Over the last six years, the Skye Book Festival has rapidly carved a niche for itself nationally with past attractions including Peter May, Val McDermid, Joanne Harris, Donald S Murray, Sally Magnusson, Roger Hutchinson, Lady Claire Macdonald and the launch of both volumes of the best-selling Great Book of Skye. It also features a Poetry Walk each year as part of the regular programme.

The next festival will take place 31 August – 2 September 2017.

We are delighted to announce that included in this year’s programme of events we have Britain’s most successful crime writer Ian Rankin, one of Scotland’s brightest literary talents Graeme Macrae Burnet and Scottish Makar Jackie Kay.

The Skye Book Festival offers a diverse range of events including enlightening interview-style chats, question and answer sessions where you can join in and have your say, book folding workshops, a poetry walk and the PBFA Antiquarian Book Fair, along with readings and book signings.
