| Description | ‘The Outside Track’ This well known traditional band offer a stunning synthesis of virtuosity and energy through a marriage of Canadian, Scottish and Irish music and song. They are united in their love of traditional music and are committed to creating new music upon its foundation. As a result they have been rapturously received around the world. The members are: Norah Rendell on whistle, flute and lead vocal, born in Vancouver, toured extensively, member of Canadian roots band, ‘Cleia’. Mairi Rankin on fiddle, vocal and step-dance, one of The Rankin Family from Nova Scotia, toured nationally and internationally. Ailie Robertson on Scottish harp, from Edinburgh, four time National Mod Gold Medalist, tours and teaches around the UK and Ireland. Cillian O’Dalaigh on guitar and flute, brought up in Ireland, joined the family band, ‘Trazz’, toured in Ireland, Germany, France and UK. Fiona Black on accordion and fiddle, from Evanton in the Highlands, attended National Centre of Excellence, received lessons from Blair Douglas and Iain MacFarlane, toured throughout Scotland. A band not to be missed and early booking recommended. |
