| Description | The Mick West Trio combines one of the best voices in Scotland with two superb musicians to produce a sound rooted in the tradition, but delivered in a more modern setting. Performed with virtuosity, imagination and presence, this trio has been described as “a must for any fan of Scottish song”. Mick West is one of Scotland’s foremost exponents of Scottish song. He has toured extensively with his band, delighting audiences at home and abroad. Frank McLaughlin is a highly regarded guitarist and piper who has worked with many top musicians on the Scottish scene. He is regularly in demand as a session player and teacher and has worked on numerous recording projects including ”The complete songs of Robert Burns” (Linn Records Fraser Fifield is a composer and producer, world class piper, soprano saxophonist, and low whistle player with a background in traditional Scottish folk music. He has been described as " one of the most exciting talents to emerge in Scottish folk in recent times" (Scotsman). |
